What You'll Be Doing
Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with Zendesk QA data scientists, product managers, designers, and researchers to align on product roadmap priorities, ensuring that customer-facing dashboard development meets overarching business goals and user needs.
Visualization Architect: Take charge of designing and implementing customer-facing dashboards using LookML and BI tools like Looker. Apply your data engineering skills to transform complex datasets into intuitive visualizations, enabling clients to make data-driven decisions and derive actionable insights..
Define Key Metrics: Analyze and define essential business metrics that will be featured in customer-facing dashboards, ensuring they are relevant, actionable, and aligned with customer objectives.
Data Integration: Collaborate with backend engineers, analytics engineers, and data engineers to ensure that relevant data sources are seamlessly integrated into the analytical data warehouse, enabling reliable and accurate dashboard outputs.
Optimize Data Models: Develop and optimize data models using tools such as dbt to define core fact and dimension tables that support effective dashboard functionality and performance.
ETL Processes: Build and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure data is efficiently processed and available for dashboard reporting.
Data Engineering Solutions: Assist in developing and implementing data engineering solutions to support analytics and reporting needs, ensuring that data is readily available and actionable.
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years in data engineering or related fields, with a strong emphasis on developing Looker dashboards and building scalable data solutions that drive impactful analytics.
Proficiency in LookML and SQL, along with experience using BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI, demonstrating your ability to create and optimize data models and dashboards that transform complex datasets into actionable insights.
Solid understanding of data modeling principles and experience in designing and optimizing data structures for reporting and analytics.
Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, and experience in leveraging cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to present data insights clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to work optimally in a remote environment, collaborating with geographically dispersed teams and customers.
Experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines to ensure reliable data flow and availability for reporting and analytics.
Nice to Have:
Experience with data governance and security best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance.
Experience with data storytelling techniques to convey insights through compelling visualizations and presentations.
Familiarity with advanced analytical techniques, including statistical analysis or machine learning concepts, is a plus.
