This engineer will be part of the Big Data Ops team responsible for developing, maintaining, testing, analyzing, and evaluating data. **Key Responsibilities:** + Work on process improvement and come up with process and cost savings + Evangelist for data engineering function leveraging Big Data framework + Monitoring data pipeline + Support our software engineers and data scientists + Contribute to our cloud strategy based on prior experience + Independently work with all stakeholders across **Skills, Experience and Requirements** **Experience:** + At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Big Data applications design, development, and implementation + At least 3 years of Cloud experience + 5+ years of SQL experience, prefer Hive/Impala framework including SQL performance tuning **Skills and Qualifications:** + Solid understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, and knowledge on a variety of databases such as Oracle, MongoDB, SQL Server, Postgres etc + Experience with schedulers such as Control-M + Experience in maintaining streaming jobs (producers/consumers) using Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis + Unix Shell Scripting, SQL scripting + Prefer experience in production support for Big data pipelines, MapReduce framework, Oozie workflows, and scoop Jobs + Prefer experience in AWS services such as EMR, Glue, S3, Athena, DynamoDB, IAM, Lambda, Cloudwatch **Salary Ranges** Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $137,500.00/Year **Benefits** We offer versatile health perks, including flexible spending accounts, HSA, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, career opportunities and a flexible time away plan; all benefits can be viewed here: DISH Benefits .
