Senior Billing Operations Specialist

Summary:
The Senior Billing Operations Specialist will hold the billing, business controlling, and reporting of Amadeus revenues related to Airline Services. The role involves managing contract fulfilment, handling effort day-related billing for consulting, training, and development projects, and ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards. This position will require close collaboration with delivery teams, program managers, and the Revenue Recognition team to manage complex financial accruals, such as percentage-of-completion calculations.

In this role you will:

Collect and consolidate monthly billing information from relevant stakeholders.Ensure accurate and timely billing in alignment with contractual commitments and KPI deadlines.Define, review, and validate reporting requirements.Generate billing reports to enhance revenue visibility for the Airline Services business unit.Manage and improve the transfer of accrual information to ensure accurate revenue recognition for Amadeus IT Group.Apply IFRS standards to ensure proper revenue recognition adjustments, including preselecting contracts eligible for percentage-of-completion (POC).Introduce, explain, and monitor standardized billing templates to Account Managers and Delivery Management teams.Ensure compliance with internal controls to prevent duplicate billing and revenue leakage.Ensure billing accuracy and compliance with contractual conditions to meet revenue management KPIs.Identify and resolve invoicing deviations, including discounts, waivers, and contractual discrepancies.Contribute expertise to Revenue Management Centre (RMC) projects as needed.

About the ideal candidate:

5–6 years of experience in a similar role, with regular interaction with internal and external customers.Strong financial background and a solid understanding of accounting concepts, revenue and invoice issuance, and cost-related principles.Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple billing activities simultaneously.Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP 4HANA is a strong advantage.Fluent in English, advanced level of Spanish is an advantage.Strong problem-solving skills to identify and address billing discrepancies.Effective communicator, capable of collaborating across teams to streamline processes.
