We are seeking a Senior Brand Strategist to join our enterprise Brand Experience team and report to the Manager of Brand Strategy and Advertising. The Senior Brand Strategist will be responsible for developing and managing the strategy, messaging and execution of our integrated communications plan that advances our brand and reputation as a technology leader. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to activate the communications organization, deepen our brand story, and amplify our expression in unexpected ways.

This position preferred to be located in Falls Church, VA, Redondo Beach, CA or San Diego, CA, but open to hybrid and fully remote schedule. Teleworking arrangements are subject to change based on the needs of the business.

In This Role, The Selected Candidate Will

Work closely with the Manager, Brand Strategy & Advertising, external agency and other key stakeholders to develop and maintain Northrop Grumman’s brand strategy including brand architecture, naming, messaging, etc.

Partner with communications leadership across the enterprise on the development of a communications strategy to drive performance, reputation, and engagement for Northrop Grumman’s key focus areas.

Lead creative, strategy-driven conversations with internal stakeholders and external agency.

Define and manage the brand story and strategy of Northrop Grumman’s offerings and ensure it is adopted across the enterprise.

Identify opportunities to strengthen and amplify the brand through strategic initiatives and campaigns.

Define and refine the brand architecture and naming strategy to ensure a cohesive and unified brand presence.

Spearhead efforts with cross-functional teams to define new brands, names and go-to market strategy.

Develop compelling messaging platforms, assess channels and content, and participate in the creative process.

Collaborate with project teams and other internal stakeholders to develop and implement campaign specific strategy against business objectives.

Partner with internal teams to develop content in support of sector and enterprise priorities, ensuring message alignment and consistency across audiences.

Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by promoting the use of insights throughout the organization to uplevel strategy and brand communications.

Measure and report on communications performance against defined objectives in partnership with internal and external teams.

Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to our brand and business.

Maintain line of sight to both macro and micro market factors and competitor activity, proactively seek out opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with ten (10) years of related experience (e.g., brand strategy, brand management, marketing, brand communications) OR Master's degree with eight (8) years of related experience (e.g., brand strategy, brand management, marketing, brand communications).

Strong understanding of brand architecture, creative strategy, naming and messaging.

Experience in executing both internal and external strategic communications or brand campaigns.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate and present complex information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.

Must possess excellent writing, storytelling, grammar, and proofreading skills, strong problem solving, organizational skills and highly detailed-orientated.

Able to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

Ability to knit together disparate sources of information into a strong strategic narrative, and radically simplify information.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working at a brand or advertising agency.

Experience working in a large, matrixed and/or geographically dispersed organization.

Experience working for or with military, defense, aerospace or technology companies.

Ability to contribute to the completion of organizational projects and goals with minimal supervision.

Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders with differing perspectives, including handling challenging situations with diplomacy and tact.

Energetic team presence with an eagerness to learn and recommend new and innovative ideas to foster strategic objectives.

A passion for staying ahead of industry trends and a curiosity to explore new ideas and possibilities.

Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $149,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
