Senior Bridge CADD Technician

Stantec has an immediate opening for a Senior Bridge CADD Technician with structural computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) experience in our Lexington, KY office.
Your Key Responsibilities 

Create, maintain, and edit design drawings and construction plans for transportation structures (bridges, walls, culverts, etc.) as required utilizing Autocad/Bentley software packages. Utilize engineering calculations, notes, sketches, existing plans, etc. to create Structural plans. Prepare high quality plans adhering to client design/drafting standards, manuals, and other resources. Facilitating and ensuring the quality and completeness of the drawings and graphic work produced by the project CADD group. Exhibits proficiency regarding terminology, technology, and other concepts related to complex structural engineering and construction practices. Applies this understanding to the process of structure layout, concrete reinforcing, and structural steel design and detailing. Understands civil site plans for the use of Structural Layout. Prepare and check quantity calculations from plans. Perform shop drawing reviews. Ensure that project needs are met in a timely and effective manner. Works closely with project managers, project engineers, designers, and other structural CADD technicians.

Your Capabilities and Credentials 

Proficient skills in Microstation & Projectwise, are required as a minimum. Working knowledge of Bentley ORD and/or OBM. Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil3d not required but preferred. Strong attention to detail and presentation. Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to design and problem solving. Flexibility to work within a team, sharing workloads to meet deadlines. Ability to lead other team members. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 

Education and Experience

Technical Degree, AAS or BS in Computer Aided Drafting and Design  10+ years’ experience in civil/structural engineering drafting of bridges and other transportation structures
