Senior Business Analyst, FX

The Senior Business Analyst role sits within the Rates & FX Delivery team that is part of TP ICAP Technology division. The role is critical to the success of business- and technology-led initiatives where requirements need to be analysed and described as deliverables for multidisciplinary teams including developers, quants, data analysts and testers.  

The Senior Business Analyst will elicit, understand and document Functional and Non-Functional requirements whilst working closely with the TP ICAP Business, Corporate and Technology teams. The Senior Business Analyst will analyse the requirements of product management, front office and corporate functions stakeholders and produce documentation that can be used by engineers to implement and test features.

Role Responsibilities:

Learn about TP ICAP’s technology solutions that support our global multi-brand Rates & FX business lines  Understand or be interested in learning about Interest Rate and FX financial products, including trading modalities and pricing  Have a good understanding of modern IT architecture solutions (componentised events-driven cloud-deployed technology stack) Understand data formats like Google protbuf, XML and FIX to describe interactions between components  Work closely with product managers and Agile team members to translate business requirements into epics and stories  Support other team members throughout the delivery process, for example during requirements elicitation, backlog grooming, requirements clarification, UAT testing activities (including training) Contribute to the definition of business architecture and business solution design Act as a subject matter expert and actively contribute to decision making. Identify issues and shape business solutions  Understand and challenge requirements and proactively raise risks and issues to the team where identified Take responsibility for the quality of Business Analysis work, peer review work and provide feedback Contribute to the wider Business Analysis practice; help to improve processes and ways of working. Actively contribute to developing templates, methodologies and tools and share knowledge and ideas with the wider Business Analysis community  Manage ad-hoc tasks as required 

Experience / Competences

Essential

Good understanding of modern componentised systems architecture Good understanding of data protocols  Good understanding of Agile practices and tooling to support Agile workflows  3+ years proven experience in a comparable role, ideally in the Financial Services Technology space  Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel Comfortable engaging with various stakeholder groups, including, but not limited to, stakeholders in broking, trading, compliance, trade management, development, testing roles  Ability to describe business requirements to the team and explain technical solutions to a non-technical audience Ability to self-start, identify tasks required independently to fulfil project deliverables and work as a team member Strong problem solving and documentation skills Ability to work on multiple projects whilst managing multiple deadlines and differing priorities Ability to use own initiative with strong personal organisation skills to work to tight deadlines  Ability to develop new skills and understand new technology as required Service oriented and adaptable and resilient  Results oriented and personal accountability  Skilled in applications that support Agile development practices, like JIRA, Confluence, data analysis, visualisation and presentation tools Ability to work across global teams in multiple time zones & varied cultural working environments 

Desired 

Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java or C# is beneficial Knowledge of the front-to-back trade lifecycle is beneficial: client facing UI, trading, middle/back-office (booking, clearing), on-boarding, and reference data
