Job Description:
The Finance & Analytics Senior Business Analyst will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for RaceTrac’s Power BI app supporting the Energy Dispatch team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and will act as the main point of contact for all reporting-related inquiries. Additionally, this position will own the Energy Dispatch Power BI app, handling reporting enhancements, bug fixes, and new report requests.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain reports, data files, and dashboards using querying tools, statistical methods, and data modeling.Manage Energy Dispatch’s financial close process and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.Build financial models and analyses to support critical strategic initiatives and investments.Conduct ad hoc data analyses, including revenue, expense, and profitability reviews across all Energy Dispatch regions.Present analytical findings clearly and effectively, leading discussions with managers and executives.Extract and manipulate robust data sets from internal data warehouses via BI tools to support data-driven decision-making.Develop and implement a business intelligence and analytics strategy aligned with organizational goals.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, and Accounts Payable, to ensure alignment and effectiveness.Provide training and mentorship to analysts and team members on analytics systems, dashboards, and solutions.Conduct in-depth analyses of data trends, patterns, and anomalies to support strategic decision-making.Monitor and optimize the performance of BI applications for continuous improvement.Analyzes various weekly/monthly financial reports and distributes to executives and department heads. Provides the ‘why’ behind abnormalities while telling the story with trend data.Executes ad hoc data analyses in response to business requests including analysis of all levels revenues, expenses, and profitability for corporate divisions and the company as a whole. Works with internal customers to refine and improve current reporting and analysis.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required.4+ years of experience in business analysis or financial analysis.Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau, as well as expertise in SQL, is required.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
