As part of the broader Technology team, our team partners with the business to deliver efficiency and innovation for Coles as the leading retail supply chain network in Australia. We deliver value through quality technology solutions that simplify our distribution and transport businesses. Our platform includes over 40 tools and applications used by our distribution and transport team members daily, including business critical applications. 

 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our dynamic and innovative team responsible for being a significant contributor to some exciting projects within the supply chain replenishment team. 

 

 

About the Role

 

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to manage the review and analysis of the organisation's business intentions, services, processes and information to identify changes that lead to business improvements.

 

The role will include acting as the primary focal point between the brand/retail support area to provide IT services for the assigned stakeholders process/application areas, managing initiatives end to end (includes assigning business activities to take place).

 

You will be required to undertake the discovery & development of business requirements, business process improvement, process mapping and design for Supply Chain Replenishment projects.  

 

As part of this role, you will undertake detailed business requirements gathering and documentation activities using agile and waterfall methodologies as required in the relevant project or work-stream. You will manage and elaborate requirements to support solution implementation. This will include requirements and functional design modelling, writing business requirements document, business functional solution document, user stories and use cases among other business analysis artefacts. 

 

You will work closely with the business and IT teams to understand and solve business problems and develop options for functional design & business change. This will involve working with the quality assurance team(s) to ensure business and technical acceptance of the solution being delivered. You will ensure smaller IT initiatives and service requests are aligned to client business and IT strategies, escalating (where required) any non-aligned requests to Line Manager/Delivery Manager for resolution.  You will also be required to identify potential problems & putting steps in place to prevent them occurring.

 

You have an in-depth understanding of information/data models with ability to query the datastores, applications and middleware. This includes working with the technical team to ensure they understand the current and upcoming business requirements for information and data.  

 

You have previous experience mentoring and guiding team members and stakeholders in using best practices in business analysis, business modelling and functional design. You will also be required to develop and maintain defined communication channels and/or stakeholder groups, acting as a single point of contact.

 

Ideally you have extensive supply chain replenishment and logistics experience at an enterprise level

 

 


About you and your skills

 

•    At least 5 years’ experience as a senior business analyst with a high degree of expertise in analysing complex problems. Experience in project management is also desirable. 
•    Track record of working with agile and hybrid delivery methodologies. 
•    Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
•    Demonstrated senior stakeholders’ management capabilities.
•    Functional knowledge of retail supply chain domain in general and retail replenishment domain in particular is preferred. 
•    Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements.
•    Experience in development of business cases.
•    Ability to facilitate workshops and lead focus groups. 
•    Functional knowledge of Supply Chain (Replenishment)
•    Ability to map processes and identify process improvement opportunities.
•    Excellent stakeholder management skills
•    deep functional understanding of IT solutions.
