Seeking a professional fundraiser and grants manager to develop and manage a fundraising program.
Essential Duties:
Donor Research
1. Develop an appropriate prospect list by identifying individuals and groups who have the capacity and propensity to support the sustainability of health information exchange in Pennsylvania.
2. Analyze prospect list using characteristic such as interest values, giving history and relationship to the Authority in order to select potential donors for particular HIE projects.
3. Implement and utilize a data managements system that stores information about prospects to enable retrieval and analysis.
4. Rate prospects in categories of giving potential in order to prioritize and plan solicitations.
Gift Securement
1. Develop a compelling case for Authority support by collaborating with staff and stakeholders and other groups in order to communicate the rationale for supporting the Authority’s fundraising needs.
2. Design and conduct studies and/or surveys to plan and evaluate specific aspects of a fundraising program, specific to the needs of the Authority.
3. Prepare donor-centered solicitation materials to influence and facilitate informed gift decisions in collaboration with Authority staff and stakeholders.
4. Design and implement comprehensive solicitation program to generate financial support.
5. Evaluate the solicitation program using appropriate criteria and methodology in order to produce accurate reports for effective decision making.
6. Contribute to annual reports and prepare year-end accounting; develop and manage budget.
Grant Identification
1. Identify private and public sector grant opportunities appropriate to the Authority.
2. Work closely with Authority staff to develop compelling grant applications and/or proposals.
3. All grants will be managed under the auspices of the Authority’s Fiscal and Performance Manager and appropriate subject matter experts. This position does not involve management of grants.
Position Details
1. This is a full-time contract position.
2. This position will report to the Authority’s Director of Communications with close additional coordination with the Authority’s Program Manager.
3. Specific date and amount targets for funds raised will be set by the Director of Communications, in cooperation with the successful candidate.
4. Specific date, content, and format requirements for deliverables will be set by appropriate Authority staff, in cooperation with the successful candidate.
5. Continued employment will be conditioned upon achievement of mutually agreed to fund raising and deliverable requirements.
6. The successful candidate will become an integral part of the Authority staff. They are expected to work in Authority offices and participate in various staff meetings and events.
Qualifications
1. Seven to 10 years of successful track record in fundraising with demonstrated results.
2. Ability to cultivate a specific portfolio of major gift prospects; secure immediate and long-term gift revenue.
3. Familiarity with fundraising databases and other Microsoft programs.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication (presentation) skills.
5. Highly organized with ability to plan and prioritize work while managing deadlines.
6. Commitment to ethical principles relevant to cultivation, securing and accepting gifts.
7. Knowledge of legal practices related to donor record maintenance, gift accounting and audit trails, including personal privacy and information protection.
8. Experience in public and private grant funding to include: grant identification and grant writing, but not grant management.
