Senior Business Systems Analyst

Job Overview:
Under general supervision, the candidate will be responsible for and lead the analysis and evaluation of new and existing Medical Claims and other healthcare datasets to ensure data quality and completeness.  The candidate will review data quality control reports to identify potential issues, further investigate using data analysis skills and work with internal teams and external data partners to mitigate issues.  The candidate will also work with various teams and stakeholders to support the integration of new data assets and additional quality controls.

Essential Functions:

Supports production data management systems to ensure data quality.Ability to analyze data utilizing SQL and other technologies to identify potential issues, document findings, and remediate as needed.Capable of analyzing and addressing business & technical requirements and mapping them into data acquisition processes and related data analytics Facilitates and coordinates data on-boarding efforts working with various business units and 3rd-party data partners, to successfully complete on-boarding effort on-time and within budget.Provides updates on assign projects / tasks to management and internal stakeholders.Advises development teams on data load, transformation, and data quality control processes.Ability to communicate results effectively in the form of presentations that include charts, graphs or tables, both orally and written to both internal stakeholders and external data partners.Ability to work with team members or independently to identify and resolve data quality issues. Informs management of any critical issues affecting project deliverables or scope in a timely manner. Ability to work on a multiple projects, estimate effort, identify risks, keep on task and produce quality work.Proactively looks to drive innovation / improvement in the on-boarding and production support for data assets.Supports implementation of new data integration and analytics platforms as a SME for select data assets.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experienceMinimum of 5 years of professional experience.Strong knowledge and experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Hive) and programming (SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL or ETL frameworks).Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.Technical experience regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.Strong Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Must have excellent oral and written skills, critical thinking, decision-making, interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and able to work independently, and work well under pressure. Experience with Big Data tools Hue, Impala, and DBeaver a plus.Experience with healthcare data and related standards (NCPDP D.0, 837P/I, 835, HL7) a plus.Software Development Lifecycle experience a plus.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $82,700.00 - $137,800.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
