ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Primary responsibilities:
The role requires daily management of suppliers, purchase orders, schedules, and inventory to meet schedule/plant objectives.Foresees and escalates purchasing interruptions, constraints, or issues and works cross-functionally with manufacturing, planning, and/or requisitioner to resolve and minimize impact to the production schedule.Plan, source, and negotiate all purchases for raw materials, equipment, supplies and services in accordance with departmental policies and procedures in support of company policies, goals, and objectives.Responsible for purchase order entry in the ERP system, placing orders with suppliers, and working with suppliers to ensure on-time receipts.Develop, update, and implement effective sourcing strategies to ensure a continuous supply of quality, competitively priced services and materials.Work in collaboration with Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Supplier Quality, and Engineering to resolve supplier/shipment issues. Obtain RMA's (Return Material Authorizations) from suppliers and assist in preparing materials to be returned.Communicate with suppliers and Accounts Payable through the PO and payment process to resolve issues when necessary.Participate in new product introductions (NPIs) as a member of cross-functional development team as needed.Partner with Corporate Procurement to ensure vendors selected fit with the current plan for managing materials and costs.Work with Quality, Manufacturing and Corporate Procurement to consolidate/eliminate vendors that supply duplicate materials to the plant.Coordinate with QC, Warehouse, external suppliers (e.g. sterilizers), and any other required teams/resources to ensure timely availability of received goods into inventory.Expedite purchase orders (POs) that are needed in less than the normal lead time to improve the shortfall between the stated lead time and required lead time.Maintain dates on POs to ensure the most accurate dates are always captured in Oracle.Acts on signals from ASCP, planned order recommendations, order release actions, and exception messages from Oracle, pulling/pushing POs as required.Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for purchasing serving as a partner to manufacturing.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers to support manufacturing operations.Support and participate in cross-functional teams.Performs other related duties as assigned.DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Bachelor’s degree: SCM, business, finance, economics, or sciences background; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degreeExperience:
7+ years of experience working in supply chain, production control, and / or manufacturing.Must have a thorough working knowledge of Quality Systems, especially those regulations pertaining to vendors and materials.Strategic thinker, detail oriented, strong analytical skills; must have good communication, organizational, and leadership skills to work with various departments in the organization.Experience using Oracle is highly desirable.Extensive knowledge in analyzing and solving problems in a disciplined fashion, ensuring clear understanding of the root cause(s) and efficient recommendations for resolution.Possess team-focused attitude and work in team-oriented environment.Creative / innovative mindset, with demonstrated ability to “think outside the box”.Demonstrated computer skills. Advanced MS Excel user.Ability to work on multiple projects with limited direction.TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Ability to utilize a computer, telephone and copy machine as well as other general office equipment. Strong computer skills are required.
