Senior Buyer

Our Corporate Procurement team is hiring for a Senior Buyer! The Senior Buyer will obtain high-quality products at the best price points to meet business demand, develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, and implement long-term supplier contracts with volume pricing to achieve better results.  

 

Primary Responsibilities

Execute procurement strategies aligned with the organization’s overall goals and objectives. Implement and negotiate cost savings actions to reduce overall material costs. Buy purchased parts and manage items when received. Manage price and lead times on each item in Syteline. Process PO requisitions to issue to vendors/suppliers, ensuring accuracy of terms in quantity, specifications, and delivery dates. Obtain quotes for customer orders. Submit and manage new vendor request forms as needed. Identify, evaluate and select strategic suppliers based on criteria such as quality, reliability, cost and innovation. Negotiate and implement contracts and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Analyze spending to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide support. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and implement approved contingency plans.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field along with at least 7 years of related experience In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier management Strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills Proven experience as a Senior Buyer or similar Procurement role with successful negotiations and cost savings, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environment High attention to detail Provide excellent customer service Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers Understanding of the market, our products, industries and trends Experience with ERP system
