JOB SUMMARY

Nature of Work

This is a specialized work, of a more technical nature in connection with the central purchasing operation of the company. An employee in a position allocated to this class performs purchasing assigned commodity groups including preparation of complex procurements, analysis of technical bids and proposals and the preparation of purchase orders and term contracts. Work includes evaluating market conditions and trends, planning specific short and long range commodity objectives, developing and surveying markets for best or new supply sources. This class is distinguished from the Buyers class by the higher degree of responsibility, higher delegated procurement approval authority, independent judgment and technical competence, and by the involvement of limited managerial and supervisory tasks. Supervision is received from a designated superior who reviews work for the attainment of desired results to assure conformance with established policies and procedures

Level of Work

Handles high critical , high- value commodities such as:

Direct – OCM, PCBA, Wire Harnesses, RFID, Switch Control, Plastics, Motors, valves, castings, faucets, servers, heaters/ heating elements, Sensors

Performs supply/demand review and analysis, PO placement, follow-up/expedites deliveries, Inventory ControlCoordinate with internal department related to price matching, invoice aging, receiving , IQC and warehouse.Manage and continuously review the Purchase Order System (MRP), to ensure it is accurate, up to date and consistently meets the requirements of the business;Purchase materials in line with inventory targets and turnsTimely and effective communication of forecasts and purchase orders to qualified suppliers based on BE PUR guidelines.Continually review the overall “value” offered by existing suppliers and ensure that the Company’s purchasing remains globally competitive.Assist with regular re-negotiations of terms of business/service agreements and performance evaluation with suppliers, taking corrective action as required.Check and authorize designated invoices for stock, packaging and carriage items.Studies market prices and trends, engineering developments, and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities; advises company activities with concurrence of a senior supervisor and/or the supply chain managerCoordinates the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and services.Coordinates as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.Management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Supplier quality performance, Supplier On time delivery, Fill Rate, Inventory Turns and etc;Management of Bill of Materials cost and continuously drive for cost improvementsAny other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.Ability to work under pressure and to tight schedules;Strong organizational and administration skills
