To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! **Responsibilities** + **Contracting Strategy Development:** Design and implement innovative contracting approaches that align with category strategies and business objectives, incorporating performance measures, incentives, long-term agreements, and partnerships. + **Market and Supplier Analysis:** Conduct in-depth market research, peer benchmarking, supply risk assessments, and identify new sources of supply to drive informed decisions. + **Supplier Relationship Management:** Collaborate with suppliers to assess operational factors that impact pricing and evaluate opportunities for cost reduction while ensuring quality, reliability, and adherence to delivery schedules. + **RFQ/RFP Creation:** Develop and issue comprehensive Requests for Quotes/Proposals (RFQ/RFP) to ensure compliance with organizational terms and flow downs. + **Proposal Evaluation & Supplier Selection:** Partner with internal stakeholders to review supplier proposals, negotiate pricing and terms, and recommend suppliers. Analyze trends, track order progress, verify delivery timelines, and approve payments while maintaining thorough records. + **Negotiation and Purchase Commitments:** Engage in negotiations to finalize purchase commitments, following approval of negotiation plans by the designated supervisor. + **Purchase Order Management:** Develop and award purchase orders and strategic agreements. + **Supplier Performance Oversight:** Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and service level agreements, aligning with stakeholder expectations. + **Issue Resolution:** Lead efforts to resolve supplier performance issues promptly, ensuring timely and satisfactory outcomes. + **Supplier Reviews:** Initiate and facilitate regular business reviews with suppliers to assess and discuss performance, fostering continuous improvement. **Qualifications** + Minimum of 7 years of relevant procurement experience in a similar environment. + Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written. + Strong organizational and time-management capabilities, with attention to detail. + In-depth knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations and agency-specific procurement requirements. + Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). + Proven ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills. + **This Hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Herndon, VA.** **Desired Skills:** + Experience working in a Cost Accounting Standards (CPSR) environment. + Hands-on experience with Costpoint 7 and/or 8 software. **Job ID** 2025-16426 **Work Type** Hybrid **Company Description** **Work Where it Matters** Akima is not just another global enterprise and federal contractor.
