Senior C2 Integration Engineer

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Command and Control (C2) Systems Engineer to support classified Air Force technology development programs at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.
As a Senior C2 Systems Engineer, you will lead the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced Command and Control (C2) systems critical to national security and military operations. This role requires deep technical expertise, the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and experience working within classified program environments. You will play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge solutions that enable tactical edge decision-making and operational superiority.
ResponsibilitiesLead the development and deployment of advanced C2 systems architectures, ensuring technological solutions align with Air Force objectives and classified program requirements.Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on systems engineering principles, including requirements decomposition, trade studies, risk analysis, and full system lifecycle management.Collaborate with government stakeholders, internal teams, and external partners to ensure integration across classified networks and mission-critical technologies.Support operational capabilities development, including data fusion, interoperability, and cybersecurity-hardening of C2 solutions.Assess system performance, recommend optimizations, and oversee verification/validation processes across project phases.Lead efforts to establish system interfaces with autonomous platforms, ground systems, and other interconnected military assets.Develop and present technical and executive-level briefings to stakeholders, program leadership, and external agencies.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:Minimum 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or defense technology development.Strong expertise in Command and Control (C2) systems or related mission-critical defense technologies.Ability to decompose complex requirements, conduct critical trade studies, and lead integration testing.In-depth knowledge of DoD acquisition frameworks, MIL-STDs, cybersecurity protocols, and classified networks.Strong skills in technical collaboration, problem-solving, and communication, including experience authoring detailed technical documentation.
Desired Skills and Experience:Knowledge of mission planning tools, edge computing systems, and autonomous systems integration.Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and digital engineering practices.INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification or equivalent highly desired.
Education Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Clearance Requirements:Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI Clearance to be eligible for this position.Please Note: U.S. Citizenship is required for this position per government contract requirements.
