The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles, CAD software proficiency, and a commitment to delivering accurate and timely design solutions for life safety systems. **Responsibilities:** + Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using CAD software for fire alarm, sprinkler, and security systems based on project requirements. + Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and local regulations. + Perform site surveys to inspect and evaluate building features and systems. + Modify and update existing drawings to reflect as-built conditions or changes during the project lifecycle. + Perform calculations for sprinkler system hydraulics and ensure compliance with NFPA codes and standards. + Create detailed layouts, schematics, and diagrams for installations, including electrical wiring and piping. + Maintain organized and accurate project documentation, ensuring all files are up-to-date and accessible. + Review plans for quality, accuracy, and adherence to customer and code requirements. **Qualifications:** + Associate’s degree or technical certification in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field. + Minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in fire protection or security systems. + Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software. + Familiarity with NFPA standards and other building codes. + NICET certification in fire alarm or special hazards system design, water-based systems and/or security systems is required. + Knowledge of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and security system components. + Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems. + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. + Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. + Ability to present clearly and technically sound design strategies. + Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. \#LI-KV1 **_Jensen Hughes is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
