You Are:
UST is seeking an experienced Senior Calypso Developer to join a high-profile project for one of the largest financial institutions in Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of Calypso-based solutions used for trading, risk management, and operations. You will work closely with both UST Global teams and our client’s business and IT stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions that meet the financial institution’s complex needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a mission-critical project in the financial services sector, leveraging your expertise in Calypso to ensure the stability, performance, and continued innovation of systems that drive key trading and risk management capabilities.
The opportunity:
· Hybrid-In office/remote
· Lead the design, development, and optimization of Calypso solutions for trading, risk management, derivatives, collateral management, and post-trade processing in close collaboration with the client’s internal teams.
· Customization & Integration Develop custom extensions, interfaces, and tools to integrate Calypso with other internal and external systems (e.g., market data providers, pricing engines, settlement systems) for the financial institution.
· Technical Leadership Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring best practices are adhered to throughout the development lifecycle.
· Act as the go-to expert for Calypso-related issues and solutions.
· Work directly with business stakeholders (trading, risk, operations) at the financial institution to analyze complex requirements and translate them into efficient, scalable Calypso solutions.
· Optimize Calypso system performance, conduct capacity planning, and resolve complex technical issues to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of trading systems for the client.
· System Support & Maintenance Take ownership of the Calypso application stack, including system upgrades, patches, and ongoing maintenance activities to ensure operational stability, system integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Work closely with cross-functional teams at UST Global and with the client, including IT, business analysts, project managers, and external vendors, to ensure the successful execution of initiatives and system enhancements.
· Ensure that Calypso development complies with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and risk management policies set by both UST Global and the financial institution.
· Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and Calypso product updates to recommend innovative solutions and improvements to the client’s trading and risk management platforms.

What you need:
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
· Additional certifications (e.g., Calypso, Cloud platforms, etc.) are a plus.
· Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience in developing, implementing, and supporting Calypso solutions, with a deep understanding of its core modules (e.g., trading, risk, derivatives, post-trade lifecycle).
· Extensive experience in Calypso customization and integration with third-party systems.
· Proven track record in leading large-scale Calypso projects, ideally within the financial services industry, including direct client-facing experience.
· Solid understanding of financial markets, particularly in areas like fixed income, derivatives, foreign exchange, commodities, and equities.
· Knowledge of risk management processes, pricing models, and post-trade lifecycle in a banking or financial institution context.
· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders and technical teams both at UST Global and the client organization.
· Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to work under pressure.
· Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.
Role Location: Ontario
Compensation Range: $108,000-$132,000
Benefits
Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Full-time temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year). They and their dependents residing in Canada are eligible for Supplemental Healthcare coverage, as well as Company-paid Employee Only basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage.
Part-time regular and temporary employees receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year).
All Canadian employees who work in a province, territory or locality with more generous paid sick leave benefits than specified here will receive the benefit of those sick leave laws.
