The Advanced Driver Assistance area is growing within Ford. We are responsible for features today that use the sensors which will bring autonomy tomorrow. We are a dynamic group of engineers striving to find new ways to further technology in the context of making drivers’ lives easier and safer. We are responsible for both existing and future technologies in the driver assistance area, using cameras, radar, and ultrasonic sensors, as well as powerful ECUs with advanced processing capability and machine vision, to deliver new features for our customers. We are delivering systems that assist our customers in their commutes every day, while acting as a stepping stone towards full autonomy.
What you'll do…
Feature design, development and model development of new camera based driver assistance features Drive requirements and functionality into our next-generation Software Defined Vehicle platform. Support platform development through requirements, detailed system design, proof of concept demos, or production-intent software (depending on your skillset.) Feature requirements development and requirements management. Define and Implement interface requirements from other interfacing systems. Develop the feature validation test cases, including developing KPI’s for high-reliability fieldable systems across Ford’s entire global cross-carline product portfolio. Conduct core, cross-carline vehicle level validation testing and support HIL and Breadboard testing. Understand the performance requirements for the cameras (both as a visual image and as a sensor) and establish new procedures to verify performance both quantitatively and subjectively. Understand system interactions in terms of vehicle dynamics to identify possible improvements and trade-offs. Identify changes needed to improve performance and meet objectives. Establish Feature objectives and ensure system operation to meet the objectives through structured component, sub-system, and system level test methodologies. Provide guidance and mentoring to junior camera system engineers and management.
You'll have…
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Mechanical with Electronic background) or Computer Science. Minimum 5 years of experience in feature development or requirements development or software development for camera systems. (5 yrs in total combination) Experience with feature vehicle level testing. Experience with Image Signal Processing Experience with image sensor technology Experience with the Agile process. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Minimum one year writing scripts / software in Python, Matlab, or C++.
Ideally you'll have…
2 year experience using Matlab, Simulink, dSpace, and/or Vector CAN tools 2 year of writing Design Verification Methods for camera features Experience developing and conducting laboratory and vehicle tests Experience with data collection and analysis of camera systems Experience with embedded software engineering for Camera systems on automotive or non-automotive target hardware. Familiarity with functional safety and ISO 26262 Familiarity with FMVSS 111
