As Senior Category Manager - Global Indirect Procurement, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that optimize business partnerships with strategic suppliers and service providers across a broad array of indirect product and services categories. In this high-visibility role you will have direct responsibility for category strategy, supplier selection, contract and price negotiations, supplier and service provider performance management, and problem resolution. You will also have the opportunity to work with senior leaders from around the company and to make significant contributions to company results. The role will have significant engagement around the Global Transportation, 3PL and Warehousing spend categories but will not be limited to this area. All Donaldson employees that meet minimum qualifications are eligible for this role.
This role can be based in our EMEA HQ in Leuven (Belgium) or in our offices in Haan (Germany) or Skarbimierz (Poland)
Role Responsibilities:
Conceptualizing, developing, and implementing procurement strategies for indirect products and services across broad array of categories.
Ensuring supply and financial objectives are achieved
Partnering with business leaders across the company on sourcing initiatives and cost containment activities
Monitoring market conditions that influence cost and supply in area(s) of responsibility and uses this information to refine procurement strategies
Executing fact-based negotiations that drive best total cost and ensure continuous supply for Donaldson
Communicating procurement strategies and trends to the Donaldson leadership team and other stakeholders and providing periodic overviews of strategy effectiveness
Managing pricing to align with current market conditions and in consideration of cost of category inputs
Drive year-over-year cost reduction and cost avoidance with assigned suppliers
Identifying on-boards and developing suppliers and service providers appropriate to Donaldson strategic sourcing objectives
Using supplier performance management data and tools to drive supplier and provider performance around quality, delivery, cost and continuous improvement
Performing regular reviews with suppliers and providers to recognize and benchmark strong performance and/or develop meaningful action plans to remedy sub-standard performance
Providing support to Donaldson stakeholders to ensure strong alignment around provider KPI expectations and ensuring effective provider performance
Completing comprehensive risk management assessments of the supply base through formal assessment tools and analysis, coupled with face-to-face and on-site interactions
Identifying and implementing countermeasures to mitigate identified risks
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
7+ years of professional sourcing experience with indirect categories
Fluent English both written and spoken
Experience in global projects related to cost reduction, cost avoidance and risk mitigation
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional European languages like Dutch, French or Spanish are a plus
The following certifications are a plus: CPSM, ASCM, CPIM or CSCP certifications
Strong business partner collaboration skills
