Where is the work: 

Due to the nature of this role, this position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule, with work performed onsite 3 days each week.  Approved work locations: Davidson, NC (HQ)

What you will do:    

Trane Technologies is hiring a Senior Category Manager to manage several IT Sourcing related categories including Cloud Hosting, Data and Analytics Software, Human Resources Software, and other key IT categories This is a critical role on our Procurement team with a large, complex scope of responsibilities within the assigned categories as well as management of a small team who will help support the listed categories. We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to own the categories inclusive of strategy, supply base, and performance as well as being knowledgeable about industry trends and best practices

Identify, engage, and align with internal stakeholders to capture category requirements and ensure supplier qualification and capabilityResponsible for developing and executing detailed category strategy, category segmentation, and demonstrating effective procurement principles.Assess opportunities for categories including spend segmentation, commodity maturity, cost drivers, and supply market analysis Negotiations: Manage contract lifecycle and compliance, ensure supply continuity and deliver the best total value through RFx activities to execute supplier selection and negotiationNegotiations: Responsibility for leading large enterprise agreements with top IT suppliers inclusive of establishing enterprise agreementsContracting: Led various types of contracting including Software as a Service (Saas), Services, Goods, Enterprise Agreements, and Licensing Agreement structures including working cross-functionally with Data Privacy, Digital Risk, and Legal Departments.Risk Management: Actively monitor and mitigate supplier risk including financial, capacity, quality, and compliance.Cost Management: Responsible for delivering category value through price, cost avoidance, and cashflow improvements across the supply baseSupplier Management: Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and regular supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within the category to meet business needs and requirementsDevelop and build capability across team members for key procurement competenciesDrive and coach problem-solving and conflict resolution to ensure timely and efficient outcomes to support business needsLead enterprise-level initiatives communicating updates and progress to all levels of company leadershipLed small team inclusive of responsibility for execution to goals and metrics

What you will bring: 

Bachelor’s Degree required.  Masters or MBA preferred.10+ years of experience in Procurement/Supply Chain with large-scale, complex, and/or regional/global categories of spend plus 5+ years’ experience contracting and negotiating complex global enterprise agreements (IT Sourcing experience preferred)Demonstrated success in assessing, negotiating, and managing suppliers using detailed negotiation planning, tools, and processes to drive productivity, cost avoidance, and cashflow benefitsCollaborative, facilitation, consultation, and conflict resolution skills; you will be a trusted business partner and engage both internal and external stakeholders/customers, and we are seeking the ability to collaborate and influence within a highly matrixed environment.Professional communication; both verbal and written are required.  Experience in presenting out to all levels of leadership and communicating concisely and effectively across complex situationsExperience leading large complex RFx events for enterprise-level supplier selectionDemonstrated ability to negotiate large enterprise-level agreementsWorld-class contracting experience across all types of agreements (Licensing, Services, Goods, etc.)Experience working cross-functionally both with IT stakeholders and key process partners (digital risk, data privacy, legal, etc.) to mitigate risk and align on mutually beneficial outcomes with suppliersDemonstrated capability of training and developing others across fundamental procurement skills and toolsExperience taking ownership of process improvements and problem-solving to lead improvements across teamsDemonstrated experience in managing and leading a teamExperience or background in IT and IT Sourcing preferred Ability to travel as needed   

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $140,000- $189,000 Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan.
