As the Senior Category Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, launch, and growth of Viatris' innovative pharmaceutical products across the MENA & Euro Asia region. In addition to managing the product portfolio, you will take a hands-on role in marketing, lead the innovation category, and lead sales teams, commercial teams, and cross-functional departments. You will also have full P&L responsibility for the innovation category, ensuring the profitability and sustainable growth of the product line.

You will report directly to the Head of Marketing, Middle East, North Africa & Euro-Asia and have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Regional President for the same region, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership:

Lead the development and execution of the business strategy for innovative pharmaceutical products within the MENA EURASIA markets.

Define the long-term vision and short-term objectives for the innovative product portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and market needs.

Continuously monitor market dynamics and competitor activities to adapt strategies and ensure market leadership and sustainable growth.

2. P&L Responsibility:

Oversee the P&L for the innovation product category in the GCC markets, ensuring profitability and resource optimization.

Develop financial plans and forecasts, manage budgets, and ensure adherence to financial targets and KPIs.

Implement strategies to drive growth and maximize the return on investment (ROI) for the innovation portfolio.

3. Product Launch Management:

Plan and manage the successful launch of innovative pharmaceutical products in MENA & Euro Asia markets.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Sales, Distribution) to ensure timely approvals, product registrations, and smooth market entry.

Develop and execute market access strategies, including pricing, reimbursement, distribution channels, and key account management.

4. Marketing Leadership & Execution:

Lead the marketing efforts for the innovation category, crafting and executing effective marketing strategies that drive product awareness, adoption, and sales.

Lead sales and commercial teams to ensure marketing strategies align with sales objectives, driving revenue and market share growth.

Develop marketing materials, digital campaigns, and promotional strategies to enhance product visibility and customer engagement.

5. Sales Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Lead sales and commercial teams on a solid line basis to ensure full execution of the innovation product strategy, ensuring engagement and strong market penetration.

Collaborate with medical affairs, regulatory, and other functions to ensure the product portfolio meets local needs and complies with regulatory standards.

Provide training and support to sales teams, fostering strong relationships with healthcare professionals, KOLs, and other key stakeholders.

6. Market Development and Sales Growth:

Drive the growth and market share of innovative products in the MENA EURASIA markets, ensuring successful adoption and leadership.

Continuously assess market performance, adapt strategies based on insights, and identify new growth opportunities.

Work with local partners and stakeholders to optimize product access and expand distribution channels.

7. Stakeholder Engagement:

Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as healthcare professionals, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), regulatory bodies, and industry partners across the region.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and other key forums, enhancing the visibility of the brand and advocating for innovative products.

8. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:

Ensure all activities related to innovative products comply with local regulations, company policies, and industry standards in MENA & Euro Asia.

Collaborate closely with the regulatory team to ensure product approvals and market entry align with local laws and market requirements.

9. Innovation & Market Trends:

Stay informed on emerging therapies, new trends, and technological advancements in the pharmaceutical industry to maintain a competitive edge.

Encourage a culture of creativity and innovation within the team to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

A degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, or related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum 7-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record in managing innovative products.

Experience in launching and managing innovative products.

Cardiovascular (CV) experience is a strong plus, especially in managing CV portfolio products.

Marketing experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience in leading marketing strategies for innovative pharmaceutical products.

Experience in GCC markets is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of the local regulatory environment and market dynamics.

Leadership experience: Proven ability to lead sales force team and motivate cross-functional teams, with a focus on achieving business goals.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical market landscape in MENA, and Euro Asia, including knowledge of local regulations, competitive dynamics, and healthcare infrastructure.

Strategic and creative thinking with the ability to develop innovative solutions to market challenges.

Hands-on marketing expertise in the pharmaceutical sector, including digital marketing, promotional campaigns, and product positioning.

Leadership and people management skills: Ability to build and lead sales force team, motivate sales staff, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional departments.

Financial acumen: Experience in P&L management, budgeting, financial forecasting, and resource optimization.
