Position Summary: As a Senior Category Planning Analyst, you will lead high level analytical activities for the entire Marketing Organization in addition to maintaining responsibility for the LRP/budget. You will also develop insights and make recommendations that will influence initiatives, strategic planning, customer experience, associate engagement and drive overall corporate sales and GP to meet or exceed budgetary goals, increase market share and enhance Wawa’s overall brand.
Principal DutiesLead the development and onboarding of designated new associates through management of temporary project assignment role. Provide feedback, coaching, support, and opportunities for development, complete performance appraisals, and participate in hiring decisions.Provide reporting and analytic support for marketing leadership, such as board meetings, management committee, and other high-level meetings and strategic decisionsProvide analytic support to designated category teams on day to day business to help inform and guide decisions that align to meeting financial objectives.Provide thought leadership to develop, manage and execute post analytical Marketing plans and projects. Responsible for developing and managing cross-functional communication plans to ensure each analytical project is using a methodical approach to adhere to the timelines and budgets of the project plan. Provide analysis, create presentations and attend and present at monthly Profit Improvement Meetings as needed, quarterly Marketing meetings and the annual Marketing Strategic Planning process.Manage the annual long-range planning processes for Marketing to ensure an accurate, timely, and aligned long-range plan. Prepare detailed and accurate monthly and ad-hoc analysis for senior Marketing leadership that provides value and actionable information for management to react to issues or opportunities.Provide data driven insights to senior management that will influence initiatives, optimize profitability and streamline efficiencies. Perform competitive analysis and financial benchmarking. Monitor costs over time and applicable markets. Conduct competitive threat analysis and attend benchmarking trips as required.Develop and continuously improve standard reports for monitoring performance. Continually analyze requirements to ensure all needs of the Marketing Organization are being met. Educate and train team on report generation and usage. Create ad-hoc reports as needed.Provide analysis and guidance to Operations Partners, gather feedback, anticipate needs and adjust reporting as needed.Represent the Marketing Team on projects as needed..
