The Chemist applies scientific principles to the formulation of materials to create new products and refine current ones. This role involves conducting research, analysis, and experimentation on products or raw materials for product and process development and application. The Chemist also takes the technical lead in research, analysis, and experimentation, providing training and work-related guidance to less experienced technicians and chemists.
ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and develop new technology and methodologies.Conduct research on manufactured products to develop and improve products.Develop and formulate innovative and cost-effective solutions.Research new and/or alternate raw materials for cost control and plant economies.Create new products or improve existing products.Prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests.Solve problems and handle the disposition of distressed products or raw materials.Provide technical service support, including customer complaint investigations.Evaluate and interpret test results and make appropriate recommendations.Work Environment
The position operates in a laboratory inside a manufacturing warehouse. The work environment has a strong paint smell and can be a bit messy, with counters often stained with paint. The role is based in the latex lab, which operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.67/hr.
