Senior Claims Adjuster, Financial Lines

The main purpose is to produce high quality work product through effective claims handling, including timely investigation, effective assessment of the coverage available and reserving and settlement of claims.

In addition to the adjusting aspect of the role the Senior would be encouraged to support the UKI PI technical manager and their respective underwriters to further develop our product and our claims offering to the market.

The PI claims team service 2 Underwriting teams, one US and non-US (UK and International). These teams write their business on the Lloyd’s and company LIRMA platforms. With a diverse & interesting portfolio including architects and engineers, US medical malpractice, accountants and US lawyers PI. 

Key relationships will include: 

External – client brokers and policyholders, London market Insurer’s and external service providers particularly panel lawyers and TPA’s. Internal – financial lines team, other claims areas and underwriting. 

To ensure that no detriment arises to the quality of work produced, the customer focus and service levels that we wish to achieve we require you to have some experience of interaction with customers and as well as being a good communicator. 

Key Responsibilities

Handle and settle financial lines claims caseload working closely with brokers, policyholders and service providers. Ensuring timely settlement of the files, accuracy and timeliness of reserving, including control of vendor expenses.  Work within the framework of the Chubb CODE philosophy and Claims proposition, to ensure that service standards are met with the appropriate level of appreciation and engagement. To fulfil compliance and regulatory requirements (including complaints procedure). Act as part of a team to ensure both Team and individual goals are met and to work with third party service providers to ensure claims service standards are maintained. Represent Chubb at internal and external meetings including review meetings with brokers, clients and London market representatives. Handling UK and International commercial PI, in particular UK construction claims. Chubb are a market leading Insurer with a claim’s portfolio of large value and complex losses which the candidate will need to have confidence in adjusting.  Build and maintain client relationships and look after key accounts through providing timely and clear responses to correspondence received. Manage various North American binder accounts; duties will include TPA claims referral, monitoring claims on a portfolio basis, audits of TPA’s and liaising with subscription market. Provide general assistance and support to claims colleagues, managers and underwriters including projects and ad-hoc tasks as they arise. Degree educate and/or ACII qualified.Proven experience of handling PI Claims. Good Experience and proficiency on the ECF and DOCOsoft systems.Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Good understanding of Chubb and where Chubb are positioned in the wider insurance market.Sound understanding of the insurance/reinsurance market. Local language – English – fluentOther European language - beneficial.
