How you will create an impact
To handle PSR (Property and Specialty Risks) Business portfolio of claims from coverage enquiry through legal liability assessment (where relevant) and quantum analysis, to timely and accurate resolution; ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders. Provide a high standard of customer service and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
+ Focused on Claims PSR (Property and Specialty Risks), this role is an ideal opportunity to develop your expertise in handling and investigating complex claims. The aim is deal with genuine claims through a proactive, best practice approach, in line with AIGs quality standards – you will actively promote and demonstrate the principles of ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ in claims handling.
+ Managing complex claims handling enquiry; coverage determination, quantum analysis and legal liability assessment, where appropriate within authority limits and providing a high standard of customer service.
+ You will also proactively identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims on a consistent basis – dealing with such claims in line with our clear guidelines.
+ Your work will involve regular contact with internal stakeholders and brokers, (medical) experts, clients’ lawyers, victims or their legal representatives. We want you to build effective relationships with internal and external customers, while acting as a point of referral.
+ You will have the opportunity to grow your experience by providing support to Team Managers and deputizing in their absence. For example, you will assist with monitoring market/industry practices in claims handling.
+ In addition, you can use the claims experience you gain to help improve our products in collaboration with colleagues in underwriting.
+ Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support through the Quality Assurance Review processes
+ Contribute to maintenance of best practice procedures for Property and Specialty Risks Complex claims, consistent with global best practice.
What you’ll need to succeed
+ Relevant experience as a Senior claims adjuster in Property and Specialty Risks (Marine and Trade Credit). Main experience in Property claims is a plus.
+ Knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for Property and Specialty Risks.
+ Specialist knowledge of Property and Specialty Risks technical claims topics is preferred.
+ Relevant experience in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration.
+ Educational Background: Business Administration, Economics or Law degree
+ Fluent in English: Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
+ Experienced in stakeholder management, both internal (underwriting, distribution, actuarial, finance and executive management) and external (brokers and clients)
+ Experience in conducting technical claims audits and effectively following
+ Lateral thinking and the ability to problem solve and develop new ideas to improve working practices.
+ Strong communication, time management, administrative and report-writing skills.
+ Attention to detail
+ Good time management and priorization skills.
