How you will create an impact
The role involves handling claims of considerable complexity with particular emphasis on reducing claims costs, providing exceptional customer service, and understanding the financial impact of claims on the business.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake coverage investigations, assess liability and quantum, negotiate early settlements, and manage the reserve process. There would be particular focus on making early claims decision that result in costs and legal spend savings for the business.
Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:
Managing claims handling enquiries, coverage determinations, quantum analysis and legal liability assessmentsEnsuring effective vendor and litigation management on Complex claims, including demonstrable savingsReporting key claims outcomes to the Complex Claims Manager and to internal stakeholdersInternal / external stakeholder engagement where required, as a technical claims expert and thought leaderDelivering technical training to colleagues and external contacts as appropriateAssisting in continuous improvement across the region through support for the Quality Assurance / Regional Audit processesWork within agreed decision making standards, limitations and authoritiesComply with key regulatory and risk management responsibilitiesWhat you’ll need to succeed
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalGood presentation skills and portfolio knowledgeAbility to manage and prioritise workload and diary managementAbility to contribute effectively within a team environment and with internal/external stakeholders at all levelsAbility to assist with technical training to claims team as requiredAbility to influence claims and non-claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategyWell-developed/advanced expertise and knowledge in financial lines and casualty technically complex claimsPolicy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretationAn advanced and thorough knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for financial lines and casualty claimsExperience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and ADR skills on higher value claimsExperience in effectively following up on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous file handling improvementReady to make a bigger impact?
