This position may be for you. This Senior Claims Examiner position in the International Casualty Home Office involves handling claims for bodily injury and property damage claims under Commercial General Liability policies. These claims include auto accidents, premises liability slip and falls, and product failures causing bodily injury or property damage. The successful candidate will need to timely confirm coverage, identify and address any coverage issues, timely and accurately set reserves, determine the appropriate investigation, complete any required reports, evaluate, negotiate and resolve the losses. The adjuster will handle USA based claims for non-US AIG Insureds and also foreign claims under Controlled Master Programs issued to large Multinational US insureds. For those claims venued outside the United States the adjuster will need to work with the AIG office or a TPA in the claim location. They may also be required to conduct Claim Reviews of foreign claims and will be required to present these claims in understandable terms for USA-based Risk Managers + Determining the scope and extent of available coverage. + The investigation, evaluation and disposition of new and existing 3rd party property and casualty claims. + Preparation and execution of investigation strategies which identify critical issues effecting liability, causation and damages and assessment of risk transfer and contribution opportunities. + Clear and concise communication and contact with internal and external customers, including insureds, brokers and underwriters, to provide guidance and manage expectations. + Proper documentation of exposure evaluation and resolution strategy. + Presentation to senior management of claim disposition recommendations. + Obtain the appropriate authority to independently negotiate multi-million dollar claims with the top plaintiff attorneys nationwide. Document evaluation, thought process, and strategy. Utilize ADR as appropriate and necessary. + Effectively strategize and budget litigation of each claim through discussions with counsel, vendors and insureds. Establish with defense and coverage counsel clear ground rules in order to maintain financial control of budget and expenses. What you’ll need to succeed + 5+ years of Commercial/Industry claims experience preferred + Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and strong negotiation skills + Advanced experience and capabilities in litigation claims management including ADR and mediation process + Experience attending and controlling cases- pre-suit, litigated and post trial- at mediations, settlement conferences, etc. + Property and Casualty licenses required, must be obtained within 6 months. + Motivated individuals who are interested in the potential for an upwardly mobile career path. For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $83,200-$104,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
