SUMMARY OF POSITION:

 

This position includes, but is not limited to cash collection, refunds and accounts receivable resolution. This also includes verification of patient insurance coverage, updating both patient demographic and insurance information, communicating payer’s trends, claim logic issues, reimbursement/rejection trends and errors to management, phone interaction with both insurance carriers, patients and other third party entities as indicated. Use of various billing systems such as but not limited to: Epic, Connex, ePaces, Evicore, Availity for provider information, plan portals/websites for various insurance payers. Use of Word and Excel and any other related tasks. Ensure that all billing is in order and compliant to receive reimbursement. Address denials and no response; provide all supporting documentation to ensure reimbursement. Resolve patient claim issues within expected time frames while maintaining quality of work and securing cash collection.

 

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

High School Diploma or GED is required, Associate's Degree is preferred.

Two - three years experience in a physician billing setting.  

Experience in the Epic billing system is strongly preferred.

Must have knowledge of Health Insurance reimbursement and billing requirements.

Must be able to apply policy and procedure to make independent decisions to secure reimbursement.

Independent, detail oriented individual with strong analytical skills.

Must have good verbal and written communication skills.  

Must be familiar with HIPAA guidelines.
