The Position
The position of senior client accountant of the Corporate & Private Client Accounting team is open to candidates with an already established career in client accounting, relevant prior experience in a similar role of >5 years and a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, financial statements and technical knowledge including up to date IFRS, UK and International GAAPs is required for this role.
Ideal candidates must be committed and driven to achieving excellence for themselves and their clients, have a strong academic background, be proactive and forward thinking and be able to deal with tasks independently and use own initiative.
A willingness to study towards a professional qualification or continue to do so is desirable but not necessary.
Your Responsibilities
Preparation of standard & complex financial statements working papers within established operating guidelines. Preparation of standard & complex financial statements in accordance with IFRS and other recognised GAAPs and to maintain and prioritise own portfolio in line with agreed deadlines. Preparation of management reporting in accordance with client requirements. Assist junior members of the team in Guernsey and India with bookkeeping and financial statements queries. Review of bookkeeping completed by junior members of the team in Guernsey and India. Review of financial statements prepared by junior members of the team in Guernsey and India. To take ownership of collating required information on audits and liaise directly with the audit team engaged to share this information and ensure the audit completes as per agreed deadlines. Accurately record all time spent dealing with client matters to ensure the clients are correctly invoiced. Communicate openly and honestly with fee earners and team members to maintain collaborative working relationships. Be responsible and approachable when given tasks by a senior team member.
