Job DescriptionThis Milan based role reports to the Client Insights Lead, Visa Europe as a key member of the European Insights and Analytics team, a diverse, high performing team helping Visa and our clients to grow customer engagement through actionable insights, analytics and measurement.
The successful applicant will support Visa client advisory (e.g. banks, merchants and partners) across the Europe region with a bias towards Southern Europe (e.g. Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece). This person will engage stakeholders with a consultative approach as a subject matter expert on insights, including relevant research techniques.
Primary expectations of the role will be to work closely with client facing colleagues to diagnose opportunities to deliver value add insights and measurement projects to clients as well as bringing thought leadership from internal resources such as immediate EU Insights and Analytics colleagues and Visa’s global insights community.
You will develop collaborative relationships with adjacent advisory teams within Visa such as VCA (Visa Consulting and Analytics) and Marketing Services to bring unified value to clients.
At this person’s disposal will be a broad roster of best-in-class insight vendor as well as skilled data scientists who work with Visa’s rich, transactional database.
Whilst foremost being part of the EU I&A team, this role will also naturally develop close ties to the SE marketing team, who are responsible for Visa’s brand health and delivering best in class consumer, client and B2B marketing to drive business growth across the Southern European region (SE)
Key responsibilities:
Provides expertise in market and customer research for Marketing Services and Visa Consulting projects, translating business questions into research objectives and advising on the best methodologies.
Ensures quality of research proposals and outputs to deepen client engagements.
Infuses client deliveries and proposals with thought leadership and strategic recommendations, driving client satisfaction and repeat engagements
Manages and maintains a preferred research vendor list, identifying the best vendor for each project at the best price
Owns pipeline of insights projects, contributing to delivery of regional revenue target through consultative sales and effective project management
Collaborates closely with other advisory teams including Marketing Services, Merchant, VCA to ensure joined up approach to client engagement
Works with the Visa data science team to ensure measurement support for client campaigns, utilizing transactional data
Connects with broader Insights teams within EU and Visa’s global insights community to bring thought leadership to support RFP’s or general client engagements.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications• Significant experience in similar client or agency side role. Consulting
experience preferred.
• Knowledge and ideally experience within financial services or payments
industry
• Strong commercial acumen, sales aptitude and pro-active relationship builder
• Effective data-led storyteller with experience in generating insights that shape
marketing strategy and planning. Strong written and verbal communication
skills.
• Rigorous attention to detail and defensible insights
• Highly developed research experience including strong understanding of
qualitative (e.g. ethnography) and quantitative techniques (e.g. segmentation,
concept testing, conjoint).
• Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams, managing
complexity and concurrent projects. An active team player.
• Proficient in MS applications including Excel and Power Point
• Proficiency in Italian and English, to pre-dominantly service clients in the SE
region
• Relevant graduate degree preferred
