Role: Senior Clinical Governance and Risk Business Partner (Maternity cover)

Location: Remote with travel when required to our sites and our Head Office in High Wycombe

Salary: Negotiable

The Senior Clinical Governance and Risk Business Partner is responsible for the implementation and oversight of clinical governance and risk management activities relating to screening across InHealth.

The role involves exercising strategic and operational leadership across all areas of quality, governance and risk management throughout the organisation.

Working collaboratively with senior operational leaders, the post holder supports the organisation’s vision to ‘make healthcare better’ through designing, implementing and monitoring a range of quality improvement and effectiveness systems.

The post holder is responsible for supporting and ensuring regulatory compliance across their service area provided by InHealth.

The post will support patient and organisational safety through fulfilment of key named roles including:

What you will do

Provide support and direction to the InHealth Clinical Quality Team (CQ) ensuring focus and delivery of the organisational clinical governance framework and strategy. Lead the day to day management of the organisation’s clinical governance and risk management systems and processes in screening. Provide assurance to the InHealth Executive Team (ET) and Board on the quality and effectiveness of services delivered. Identify areas of improvement and ensure realistic and achievable action plans are designed and implemented throughout InHealth.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and oversee clinical governance and risk management framework. Develop and implement policies for clinical governance, patient safety, and risk management. Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards. Manage the Risk and Governance Committee and provide operational support for the CQ Team. Advise senior leaders on quality and governance activities. Develop and evaluate clinical governance and safeguarding systems. Analyze key performance data and clinical risk information; report trends and suggest solutions. Maintain effective information systems for NICE and safety alerts. Plan and organize quality strategy activities, promoting multidisciplinary collaboration. Manage third-party contracts related to patient safety.

Safeguarding:

Contribute to strategic safeguarding planning and liaise with external stakeholders. Provide safeguarding support and advice to staff. Ensure supervision arrangements for staff are in place.

Complaints Management:

Lead complaint management, promoting local resolution and organizational learning. Oversee and monitor action plans from complaint investigations.

Incident Management:

Analyze incident data and make recommendations. Support the transition to the NHS Patient Safety Strategy.

Infection Prevention and Control:

Ensure infection control policies are in place and regulatory guidance is implemented. Support staff with infection control audits.

Regulatory Compliance:

Provide guidance and support for registered managers and senior leaders. Assist in writing and reviewing action plans for regulatory bodies.

Leadership:

Lead the CQ team and provide guidance to clinical leads and operational managers. Deputize for the Director of Clinical Quality and Chief Nursing Officer as needed.

Training:

Contribute to risk and governance training. Support the organization’s training needs analysis.

Health & Safety:

Oversee the Health and Safety Competent Person service.

Policy Management:

Develop and review policies in clinical governance, patient safety, and risk management. Advise managers on service-specific policy documents.

Financial Management:

Support the management of the clinical quality budget.

Your experience:

Previous experience of working with healthcare and medical professional at all levels Experience of CQC direct monitoring and inspection preparation Ideally, from a governance background Knowledge of healthcare regulation A person who naturally instils confidence in everyone they work with Someone who thrives on and is calm in challenging situations, working well under pressure An ability to translate and develop strategy and policy into real-life plans that meet our corporate objectives
