We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Database Engineer with 6-8 years of expertise in managing and optimizing databases in cloud environments, particularly AWS. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Oracle, Postgres, SQL, Couchbase, and MongoDB, and demonstrate proficiency in cloud solutioning, database migrations, and automation. A passion for database security, high availability, and disaster recovery is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Database Management in Cloud Environments:

Administer and optimize databases, including Oracle ,Postgresql DBA with AWS, Amazon RDS. Handle very large databases (VLDBs) and implement in-memory database solutions.

Cloud Database Solutioning:

Design and implement solutions for data replication, security, encryption, compression, and data masking/redaction. Evaluate and adopt tools like GoldenGate, Kafka, or other replication software to ensure seamless data flow.

Migration & Consolidation:

Plan and execute migration and consolidation of on-premises databases to cloud platforms. Leverage cloud-native services to optimize database performance and cost efficiency.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery:

Implement High Availability (HA) solutions, Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA), and robust disaster recovery strategies. Design replication strategies to ensure business continuity and minimal downtime.

Database Security:

Enforce database security best practices, including encryption, user access management, and backup policies. Stay updated on cloud security protocols to ensure compliance and protect sensitive data.

Automation:

Utilize automation tools and scripts to streamline database deployment, scaling, and monitoring. Implement automated backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and infrastructure engineers, to design database solutions. Communicate complex database concepts effectively to stakeholders and team members. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Experience: 6-8 years of hands-on experience managing databases in a cloud environment, preferably AWS. Technical Skills: Expertise in Oracle, Postgres, SQL, Couchbase, and MongoDB. Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure experience is a plus). Experience with data replication tools like GoldenGate and Kafka. Knowledge of encryption, compression, and data masking techniques. Certifications: AWS, GCP, or other cloud certifications are highly desirable
