What you'll do at Jamf:
At Jamf, we empower people to be their best selves and do their best work. Our Observability Team is responsible for improving, building, scaling and operating all our infrastructure for metrics, logging and tracing. Some examples of past and present projects include:
Building a globally distributed, centralized logging infrastructure for over 8000 virtual machines and more than 80 000 services Building a monitoring stack for >100 million active time series with one year data retention Operating a centralized logs and trace analysis service
What you can expect to do in this role:
Hands-on experience with operating centralised services for tens of development and infrastructure teams, providing all three pillars of observability – working with logs, metrics and traces. Working with cloud environments (mainly AWS, with minor exposure to GCP and Azure). Designing, deploying, operating and improving workloads running in Kubernetes.
What we are looking for:
Min. of 3 years experience of continuous integration tools and techniques (e.g. Jenkins, Bamboo, Github actions), configuration management and deployment tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet) and systems administration or similar role focused on performance analysis, capacity planning, and forecasting. Experience building and maintaining cloud native services as AWS. Experience with containerization concepts and Kubernetes. Min. of 3 years experience as a power user of various operating systems (e.g. MacOS, Linux, Shell scripting). Min. of 3 years experience in a current programming language (e.g. Java, Python, Golang). Min. of 3 years experience using source control management tools (e.g. Git, Subversion). Experience with infrastructure as code techniques (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation). Some of these names sound familiar (and exciting): Thanos, Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Fluent.
