**About the Role**
The global Cloud DevOps team is responsible for the operation of all AVEVA Cloud Solutions with the goal of achieving and maintaining a monthly service availability SLA and we’re looking for a Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team.
As a Senior member of Cloud DevOps team in AVEVA’s Research & Development (R&D) function, you will utilize your experience to continually improve and develop AVEVA’s Cloud solutions, including release and deployment processes and pipelines, enhancing, and supporting our monitoring capabilities, and diagnosing and resolving cloud infrastructure incidents to optimize uptime and allow us to scale through repeatable and standardized work practices.
We are looking for technically strong, responsible and a passionate hands-on person for our Azure or AWS Cloud Platform who will work closely with our development and portfolio colleagues, to bring new solutions to the Cloud following a standard framework to ensure they are operationally secure, stable, and scalable.
The global, 24x7 nature of the team means there may be a requirement for occasional work outside of the standard day and to be on call as part of a shared team rota.
**In this role, you will…**
Collaborate with R&D Development teams to understand the solution architecture, help architect, configure, monitor, and support API services to improve operational stability, security, cost management and reporting requirements for our cloud solutions. Work on modern approaches to software development including the ability to develop microservices and leverage serverless functions. Provide timely and effective response to incidents to minimize the impact on our customers and keep colleagues updated as required. Continually develop and improve DevOps processes, adding value through optimization, automation, and effective reporting. Automate build, Test and Deployment processes to increase efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Oversee relevant Cloud deployments to ensure successful implementation, track and report progress, resolve or escalate release issues. Proactively manage cloud environments to minimize service impacting issues, including infrastructure as code, SSL certificates, storage, health status, backup status etc. Review and process application and web account access requests and tasks. Ensure new services meet required operational readiness standards before being accepted into Cloud DevOps operations control. Ensure on-going compliance to security practices and policies. Provide subject matter expertise to business stakeholders as required. Maintain clear and accurate DevOps operational documentation. Stay current on security industry trends, tools and best practices.
**Required skills, experience, education.**
The following list applies to Azure and/or AWS Platforms.
Overall **7+** years of development experience with exposure to programming skills.
Architecting, monitoring, operational support, software development and deployment and understanding of the core tenets and practices of DevOps, CI/CD. Strong experience in Microsoft Technologies: C#, .NET, .NET Core, Web API, REST Good knowledge on OOPS, Design Patterns, Microservices, Serverless Architecture and container-based solutions. Knowledge of Azure administration, Azure APIs, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, APIO Management, Service Bus, Event Grids, Storage Accounts and Key Vaults and tools. Or equivalent AWS experience. Hands on experience in scripting languages: Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, NodeJS Hands on experience on IaaS and PaaS services Strong experience in IaC tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation and Bicep. Knowledge of Cloud Authentication protocols such as OAuth, Identity Servers, OpenID Connect and SAML etc… Knowledge and experience of operational support, software development and deployment methodologies and principles.
**Preferred skills, experience, education**
Certifications in Azure and/or AWS Hands-on experience working within an Information Security accredited framework e.g. ISO27001, 27017/18. Experience working in Agile software development such as Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
