 The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Communication Integration Managers are assigned to coordinate and integrate KSC projects, and other center contractor services, to support Program operations requirements.  They develop and implement plans to meet milestones, determine operational support and system requirements, and evaluate results for continuous improvement purposes. This position supports the Exploration Ground Systems (EGS), Space Launch System (SLS), and Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle. This position does not manage personnel.

Responsibilities

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to\:

Responsibilities include COMM Integration Manager operational leader functions that can be performed effectively by expertise gained through experience with or without a degree that may include designing and developing plans, processes, procedures, and planning data requirements analysis. Coordinate with the NASA COMM IT contractor on performing EGS COMM systems Voice, Transmissions and Imaging, and functional checks prior to major Artemis Processing operations and Sims. Ensure the KSC EGS site processing schedules (KICS) have identified and integrated the proper COMM contractor support requirements. Interface with organizational management to assure proper planning, prioritizations, and support for processing activities. Supports Daily Scheduling Meetings *

Qualifications – External

High school diploma or equivalent, plus ten (10) years related experience.

 Job Requirements

Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills required. Computer experience with Microsoft Office products, internet browsers, and outlook. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects without missing deadlines or sacrificing accuracy. Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision. Must be able to perform walkdowns in multiple processing facilities. If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required. 

 

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements

Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting. Climbing ladders and platforms will be necessary. Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment. Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing. Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.  Must be able to work in tight confined space areas.

 Work Environment

All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards. Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex. Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site. Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility.

 Equipment and Machines

Cranes and other heavy equipment such as crane carriers, Hi-Rangers, man lift platforms, hydraulic lifts, spider staging, converter dollies, cargo lift trailers, and tractor/trailers. Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related computer peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance. Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

 Attendance

Work assignments are normally 8 hours shifts, 5 consecutive days per week. Must be dependable and punctual. Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule  

Other Essential Functions

If offered a position, proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required. Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills. Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives. Government security clearance may be required in the future. Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. Must possess and maintain a valid CDL with endorsements Florida driver’s license. Must pass a federal background investigation. Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions. NCCCO Preferred.
