Senior Commerce Editor, Food Brands
Epicurious and Bon Appétit are seeking a Senior Commerce Editor to manage product review coverage for both brands’ shopping verticals. You will work closely with the Senior Director of Commerce to plan product reviews, stay on top of SEO strategy, and grow revenue for “best of” content on both sites. You will be a people manager and will be responsible for managing writers and their work product. The right candidate is a thorough editor with strong project management and digital strategy skills who excels in a fast-paced environment. This role reports to the Senior Commerce Director, Bon Appétit and Epicurious. You will be responsible for content strategy and execution to meet revenue targets.
Responsibilities:
Devise and launch comprehensive new product review strategy for Bon Appétit and update the product review strategy for Epicurious based on current traffic and SEO conditions; you’ll work to hone a unique product review voice for each brand to ensure we can cover the same topics in differentiated ways to serve both sets of readers
Pitch new topics for Bon Appétit and Epicurious to add to its product review lineup using keyword, traffic, and affiliate data
Own and have accountability for commerce content production and overall editorial voice, tone, and quality on assigned categories
Optimize multi-platform shopping-focused programming and work cross-functionally (along with Edit) to achieve editorial excellence across all platforms, including on-site, social, and newsletter
Identify new opportunities for category growth and partnerships to meet revenue goals
Work closely with the SEO team to identify new story ideas and content to update; ensure SEO best practices are met on all published stories
Work with freelancers and staff writers from start to finish of a product review, including planning testing parameters and research, managing deadlines, and editing/revising copy
Oversee all logistics of product review content production, ensuring testers have necessary product and ingredients, and coordinating with the photo editor on art
Ensure links are up to date and inventory is in stock on top-performing stories
Write and update product reviews as needed, including creating video and photo asset for multi-platform use
People Manager: Responsible for managing and mentoring direct reports, providing feedback and career development
Additional duties as assigned by your supervisor
Qualifications:
5 to 6 years of experience as a digital editor with at least 2 years of experience editing product reviews or other long-form service articles
1 to 2 years of management experience preferred
Experience creating SEO and data-driven content
Experience working on digital strategy
Exceptional project management skills and organizational skills—must be able to juggle multiple projects at once and work across teams
Experience managing writers
Experience in the food category is a must

This is a guild position.
The expected base salary range for this position is from $90,000-$110,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
