Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Bid Manager to join our team at Siemens Mobility RS - Passenger Coaches. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and handling the commercial aspects of bid proposals, ensuring competitive and compliant submissions that align with our strategic objectives.


What your day-to-day will look like:


Lead the commercial bid process from initial inquiry to contract award, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Develop and implement bid strategies that improve the chances of winning contracts while maintaining profitability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and project management, to gather vital information and ensure alignment. Analyze and interpret tender documents, identifying key commercial risks and opportunities. Prepare and review commercial proposals, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and internal policies. Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Supervise and report on bid progress, providing regular updates to senior management. Maintain a detailed understanding of market trends, competitor activities, and industry best practices. Ensure adherence to Siemens Mobility’s quality standards and ethical guidelines.


To thrive in this role, you have:


Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, CIPS) is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of experience in large commercial bid management, preferably within the transportation or infrastructure sectors. Proven track record of successfully leading sophisticated bids and securing high-value contracts. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sophisticated data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and manage relationships with internal and external customers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SMO tools. (LOA, EPIQ, SAP, ROCCIT, Dash). Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. High level of attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

This position is based in Sacramento, CA. We offer a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The base salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA, is $143,600 - $194,400 and the annual incentive target is 15% of the base salary. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
