Introduction to the job
As a Senior commercial finance business partner, you’ll be part of our Supplier Deal structuring team (DST). Your contributions will influence critical supplier agreements, including long-term supplier agreements, supplier reallocations, and new product introductions.
This high-impact role operates within the complexities of international supply chains, requiring innovative solutions that balance risk and reward for ASML and its suppliers. You'll collaborate closely with regional and global stakeholders to continuously improve deal preparation, execution, and review processes. A well-managed deal structuring process will result in deals with a balanced risk reward for our suppliers and ASML business (lines) involved.
Role and responsibilities
The Senior commercial finance business partner for supplier deal structuring is responsible for the quality of the supplier deal structuring process resulting in 12 B€ cost of goods. The international arena is making our business environment more challenging in various aspects of our deal making. Ensuring that we comply with local and global rules and regulations together with the increased complexity of our supply chains makes the deal making more and more challenging. We continuously investigate the solution space with the experts in the various compliance areas like Accounting, Treasury and Tax. You will:
Ensure an efficient & effective Deal Structuring (DST) process. Ensure we monitor deal closure with suppliers and escalate issues that need support or require a new approach.
Deal understanding and contributing to deal improvements.
Share learnings from deals and issue resolution across Sourcing clusters.
Assist Supplier Account Teams and Finance Business Partners of the Sourcing Clusters on deal proposal quality.
Ensure compliance with levels of authorization.
Identifying and controlling risk management in the area of financial, business continuity and ESG.
Once deals get approved you ensure we monitor closure with suppliers and escalate issues that need support or require a new approach. Approval processes need to be in compliance with our internal control processes, so you monitor process compliance. Meaningful management reporting that helps to spot and escalate issues in deal escalation is part of this.
Education and experience
Academic degree, specialization Business or Economics
Preferably followed by an MBA, Chartered Controllership (RC) or CPA (RA)
13+ years of experience in a finance business partner role
Experience in commercial finance, preferably in deal structuring
Semiconductor industry experience is not a requirement but considered an additional advantage
Gets things done in large organizations. This could be reflected by leading projects with many stakeholders including but not limited to include post-merger integration, acquisitions and business process transformation

Networker: has to work with multiple account teams and business lines and has to be comfortable finding and involving the right people.

Other information
You report to the Finance director supplier deal structuring and you have routine contacts with the Cluster managers, Regional managers US-Asia and their respective Finance business partners. You will provide updates in DST guidance to these people on approval processes, terms & conditions and compliance and lead several improvement projects. You also ensure the connection with the business (lines): System delivery managers and Finance business partners.
Furthermore you have contact with the supporting organizations like Finance Business Insights & Control, Contract Management, Accounting (Expert Advisory), Treasury and Tax.
