Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible to formulate competitive commercial proposals, taking into consideration on best available solution / product mix, for each individual opportunity assigned to you. Ensures bids & proposals are well documented in a timely manner and with appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs. As the custodian of bids and proposal, you will collaborate with extended stakeholders (i.e., sales, tax, contract management, finance, project, engineering, product & leadership) and ensuring all risk review processes, assessments & approvals are adhered/documented in the preparation of commercial proposals. This role is contributing to the Process Automation Energy Industries Business – Hub Asia Region. The position is based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite, #LI-hybridYou will be mainly accountable for:•\tFormulating competitive bids & proposals, considering best available solution / product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation.•\tManaging the preparation of all technical (e.g., defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), financial (e.g., total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary, project management (e.g., quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.•\tIn accordance with bid/estimate/quotation planning, ensuring that inputs for editing activities are provided on time and according to established quality procedures.•\tManaging external services to support bid/estimation preparation such as translations and governmental approvals.•\tCollecting and archiving documentation regarding the offer/order and recording assumptions and decisions taken during the development process.•\tRegularly reporting the status of the bids/estimates/quotations using defined tools and collecting and analyzing the reasons for tenders being lost and won. •\tIdentifying potential risks in the bids, and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers/channels.•\tProviding information and/or participating in the Risk Review process in accordance with ABB policy. Shall be responsible for all T&C discussions with customer.
Qualifications for the roleEngineering degree with 12-15 years of expertise in Energy Industries.More than 8 years of experience in complex Bids & Proposal. 2-3 years of experience in operations – Project Management would be an added advantage. Extensive experience with Asia Pacific customers in the Oil & Gas, Chemical & Refinery and/or and Power segments.Involvement in MEC / MAC project would be an added advantage. Fluent in English, proficient in Mandarin / Thai / Bahasa is a plus.Team player, self-sufficient and highly motivated.
