Senior Commissioning Engineer
**Job Overview:** Reports to the CSU Manager and assist planning and execution of a safe and efficient Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Startup and Performance Testing of the facility to achieve the project’s production and performance objectives and McDermott’s (MDR’s) contractual objectives. Also responsible for the administration of all materials and personnel under him, located within the complex to deliver a safe working environment. Responsible for project preservation activities, record keeping, and adherence to policies and procedures. Provides first-line supervision to assigned commissioning personnel including such as mechanics, millwrights, boiler-makers, machinists, carpenters, etc. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** + Develops work plans for execution of mechanical Precommissioning and Commissioning activities + Responsible for liaison with equipment manufacturers and suppliers for mechanical Precommissioning, Commissioning and spares procedures for mechanical equipment / packages as required + Responsible for the development of Precommissioning and Commissioning procedures and testing programs for mechanical equipment and systems + Responsible for identifying commissioning spares at warehouse + Responsible to review lubrication fluid and grease requirements + Responsible to verify equipment vendor’s requirements for preservation and assist with the development of operating and preservation plan + Responsible for safe and effective utilization of all materials, equipment and personnel assigned to mechanical preservation + Responsible for providing timely support with craft personnel required, which includes support of all sites mechanical commissioning and preservation activities, and heavy equipment operations + Implements, maintains, and changes work schedules of personnel assigned to the foreman + Performs and supervises the analysis of commissioning orders relative to craft resources, materials, tools and methods required, manpower requirements and material requisitions + Plans and directs pre-commissioning activities for mechanical equipment oil flushing, witness final alignments of rotating equipment, loading & final closure of stationary equipment within his area of responsibility, and spare and refurbishment of mechanical equipment during commissioning and operations as required + Responsible for the quality of all work performed in mechanical department + Evaluates performance of all personnel assigned to his area + Responsible for troubleshooting of equipment as required + Responsible for supervision of fabrication of temporary spools required for commissioning purposes **Essential Qualifications and Education:** + Have a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering + Have pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up experience as a foreman or engineer, on at least 5 major EPC projects in the chemical process, refinery or oil and gas industry + 3+ years’ previous experience with preservation of rotating and static equipment in chemical process, refinery or oil & gas project + Specific in-depth experience in machine shop operation or preservation of major equipment. Knowledge of planning and scheduling is essential + Able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers + Is capable of appropriate use of computer applications and other specialized engineering tools **Preferred Qualifications and Education:** + Have 5+ years experience in chemical, refinery or oil & gas process facility as a maintenance foreman for rotating and static equipment + Have pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up experience on at least 5 major EPC projects in the chemical process, refinery or oil and gas industry. • Specific in-depth experience in machine shop operation or maintenance of major equipment. Knowledge of planning and scheduling is essential + Able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers + Is capable of appropriate use of computer applications and other specialized engineering tools + Fluent in English, Multi-Language Skills a plus \#LI-RM1 Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
