Senior Commissioning Engineer
**Job Overview:** Reports to the CSU Manager and assist planning and execution of a safe and efficient Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Startup and Performance Testing of the facility to achieve the project’s production and performance objectives and McDermott’s (MDR’s) contractual objectives. Also responsible for the administration of all materials and personnel under him, located within the complex to deliver a safe working environment. Development and implementation of programs and activities necessary for the safe and efficient commissioning and preservation of all facility site instrumentation and control systems. **Key Tasks and Responsibilities:** + Responsible for the safe and effective utilization of all materials, equipment and personnel assigned to the instrumentation section in support of the facility Commissioning and startup activities + Develops work plans for execution of commissioning, and preservation activities related to instrumentation and control systems + Documents, maintains records, and makes reports on spare, commissioning activities of equipment and systems under his responsibility + Responsible for liaison with equipment manufacturers and suppliers for instrument spares procedures + Responsible for commissioning of the instrument in the installations + Coordinates with the Commissioning Group, the execution of instrumentation related activities + Coordinates with the Preservation Coordinator in developing and implementing a preservation plan for the Instrumentation discipline + Implements, maintains or changes work schedules of personnel assigned to him + Performs and/or supervises the planning of commissioning orders relative to the necessary skill sets, schedule, material, tools and methods required + Plans and directs work activities on Instrumentation systems to minimize downtime during commissioning and Startup of the project + Establishes parameters for all work assigned to the group and make sure that work is performed with high quality standards and minimum delays + Analyzes corrective measures to be taken to effect good spare of the Project Instrumentation, during commissioning and startup of the facility + Oversees and assists in Control Systems (DCS, ESD, SIS, F&G, & PLC Systems) commissioning, loop continuity and function testing + Assist Instrument suppliers in resolving technical problems during commissioning and startup of the facility **Essential Qualifications and Education** + B.S. Degree in Instrumentation / Electrical engineering preferred + Have pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up experience as an instrumentation and controls foreman or superintendent, on at least 5 major EPC projects in the chemical process, refinery or oil and gas industry + 5+ years’ previous experience with instrumentation and control equipment in chemical process, refinery or oil & gas project + Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems, Emergency Shutdown systems, Fire and Gas, and Programmable Logic Controllers is highly desirable + Able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers + Is capable of appropriate use of computer applications and other specialized engineering tools **Preferred Qualifications and Education:** + Have pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up experience as an instrumentation and controls foreman or superintendent, on at least 5 major EPC projects in the chemical process, refinery or oil and gas industry + Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems, Emergency Shutdown systems, Fire and Gas, and Programmable Logic Controllers is highly desirable. • Able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers + Is capable of appropriate use of computer applications and other specialized engineering tools + Fluent in English, Multi-Language Skills a plus \#LI-RM1 Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
