The role
As a Senior Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This is a critical role, with the opportunity to engage and network with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally. You will an established team of Commissioning Engineers and act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing your technical knowledge and expertise.
Day-to-day, you’ll manage and lead a team of Commissioning Engineers (Mechanical – Combat), to provide planning for the Mid Life Revalidation Period.
To manage the test group system data. Provide technical support for the planning of MLRP - Mid Life Revalidation Period To act as a Combat System Subject Matter Expert for the team To promote a robust safety culture within the team.
This role is full time 35, hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical
Substantial knowledge and experience of commissioning mechanical systems on nuclear submarines, specialising in combat systems. Sound and demonstrable knowledge of safe release of systems, Control of Work process and Safe Systems of Work. The ability to manage multiple complex commissioning packages across multiple projects. Excellent leadership, training and developing qualities.
Qualifications for the Senior Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline. ONC is desirable or with relevant extensive experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
