Recognizes and evaluate sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier's products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards.
This role in summaryAs a Senior Commodity Buyer at Whirlpool, you will play a critical role in managing supplier relationships, executing commodity strategies, and ensuring cost competitiveness across assigned commodities. Key responsibilities include leading supplier negotiations, managing contracts, supporting cross-functional teams during product launches, and driving cost and performance efficiencies. You will also forecast material performance, perform data analysis, and execute sourcing initiatives while adhering to global standards.
Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in procurement, supply chain, or engineering, with experience in strategic sourcing and contract management. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Your responsibilities will include Develop and manage supplier relationships for assigned commodities.Create and execute the Commodity Strategy for optimal performance.Oversee total performance management, including quality, service, technology, delivery, and cost.Identify and mitigate risks, including financial, compliance, and geopolitical.Conduct market tests and negotiate prices to maintain cost competitiveness.Lead or support contract negotiations, depending on the contract size.Ensure timely, cost-effective, quality supplier selection and business awards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless product launches and operations.Forecast and analyze data for global cost management and efficiency.Drive and execute critical sourcing projects, ensuring adherence to global standards.Minimum requirements Bachelor’s Degree3+ years experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or engineeringAdvanced EnglishPreferred skills and experiences Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or Supply ChainExperience with strategic sourcing (negotiations, contract management, should costing, etc…)Logistics & Supply Chain understandingOrganization and communicationQuickly build strong rapport and relationships with internal process partners and suppliersAnalytical and problem solvingTeam workingMultitasking and prioritizing activities with strict deadlines Experience with Microsoft Excel and Google SheetsConnect with us and learn more about Whirlpool Corporation
