Reporting directly to the head of brand and communications in Marketing and working closely with the broader internal communications team, you will help shape the communications strategy for CSC’s Finance Department—connecting communications, strategy, change management programs, and employees. You will create a steady flow of communications that will help employees feel fully engaged, enabling them to better understand the role they play and the value of their contributions.

This is a highly visible role. You will work closely with finance leadership, human resources, change management experts, and other leaders, acting as a trusted advisor on a wide range of internal matters.

Some of the things you will be doing:

Lead the development and delivery of a global internal communications and engagement strategy for our Finance team, creating powerful stories and presenting complex content clearly and simply. Work closely with the change management leader to provide strong support on all change programs within the department, identifying when best to communicate with relevant stakeholders while informing wider employee groups and leadership as appropriate. Support the development of any training associated with the programs. Develop communications that help all employees understand Finance’s objectives as well as their role in meeting them. Link in with CEO and enterprise communications as needed. Build a regular communications calendar, including newsletters and leadership town halls, and help enable change. Adhere to the internal communications strategy, preferred channels, and processes while complying with existing governance protocols.  Encourage leaders to adopt behaviors and attitudes consistent with our corporate and brand values.  Promote understanding of internal communications as a critical business tool.  Foster brand awareness and brand ambassadorship among all employees.  Help the company enact its crisis communication plans under the leadership and guidance of our crisis response team. Support the daily management of the enterprise communications platform (Poppulo) as a member of the enterprise administration team.  Support the delivery of wider global marketing and communications campaigns (e.g., embedding our recent brand refresh).

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?

Five to seven years’ experience in internal communications. Proven experience in employee engagement communications for a complex, global organization.   Proven experience leading internal communications around global change programs. Experience managing Poppulo would be a significant advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing and proofreading skills.  Strong interpersonal and presentation skills—able to make recommendations with poise and dignity while inspiring confidence in others.  Excellent planning and organizational skills; strong project management experience.  Ability to remain calm under pressure.  Ability to deal with evolving situations, conflicting agendas, and fluctuating priorities.  Strong understanding of organizational development, communications psychology, and employee motivation.  Thorough understanding of communication planning and in-depth knowledge of the range and variety of communication channels and processes to ensure that the right communication reaches the right employee.  Ability to create and run sophisticated feedback mechanisms to ensure that a sensitive two-way dialogue can take place. Flexibility in approach and ability to work with minimal supervision to plan and prioritize own work.  Experience in scoping, building, and developing intranets and knowledge management tools would be an advantage.  Stamina, professionalism, and integrity.
