Position Summary:
The Senior Advisor, Communications is a strategic communications position reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy and Operations. In this role, the incumbent analyzes, develops and implements communication plans for the Office of the Vice-President, Administration and Finance (OVPAF) which are aligned with the University mission and messaging. The position will also support and coordinate with OVPAF sub-units on individual communications efforts as needed and liaise with Communications and Institutional Relations to plan and respond to internal and external facing media requests, on behalf of the OVPAF. The incumbent identifies communication needs, determines tactics, develops materials and assesses the effectiveness of communications efforts.
Primary Responsibilities:

Excellent writing, editing and oral communication skills. Understanding of the University organizational structure and governance. Experience in developing and implementing strategic communication plans, including change management communications. Experience in managing communications priorities in a complex organizational structure, negotiating content to accommodate differing internal priorities. Ability to function under pressure and manage tight deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build constructive and effective relationships. Discretion, integrity and tact. Superior capacity to communicate and knowledge of French and English.
