Senior Compensation Specialist

As a Compensation Specialist you will provide professional leadership and coordination in the development, implementation, and administration of total rewards, including job classification and compensation program modernization. Integrated advice, leadership, and support is provided by working collaboratively with the People and Culture teams and with leaders throughout the organization. This role develops and recommends compensation structures for base and incentive pay that optimizes hiring and maximizes employee retention through analysis of remuneration packages and position responsibilities. 

More specifically, the scope of responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Ensure accuracy and consistency in career architecture framework, job leveling, and compensation structures through detailed reviews and audits. Collaborate with People & Culture, business leaders, and employees to gather insights, address concerns, and drive alignment on compensation strategies, career architecture, and job levelling. Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommend cost-effective changes consistent with compensation trends and the organization’s objectives. Provide technical expertise and guidance to the People and Culture department and leaders on day-to-day compensation issues, policy interpretation, and provides creative problem resolution.  Evaluate the effectiveness of compensation practices through internal and external research of performance benchmarks and critical indicators such as turnover statistics, recruitment success studies, annual salary adjustments, equity studies, and salary range variance analyses. Plan, develop, and coordinate the implementation of large-scale job structure and market assessments; lead and guide the implementation of job restructuring programs and other strategic compensation projects that impact broadly on key operating facets. Develop and deliver training materials to educate People & Culture partners and business leaders on compensation fundamentals, career architecture, pay philosophy, and best practices.
