As a Senior Compensation Specialist, you will have an impact on all aspects of compensation program development and execution aligned with Armanino’s growth goals and being the best firm for people. This will include compensation strategy and design, market analysis, salary and bonus program administration, regulatory compliance, job evaluation and role classification, reporting and analytics, and providing support and guidance to People teams, leaders, and employees.
Job Responsibilities
Support the full life cycle of compensation activities including benchmarking, salary surveys, and the administration and communication of the annual merit planning cycle.
Partner with the Talent team to advise on competitive offers that attract, engage, and retain top talent.
Consult with Business Leaders and People Business Partners on all compensation-related questions.
Review, update, and maintain various compensation systems, salary structures, and incentive programs ensuring alignment with the firm’s goals.
Analyze market trends and conduct regular market pricing using salary surveys, compensation tools, and external data sources to maintain competitive and compliant pay practices.
Administer incentive and bonus programs including performance-based bonuses, commissions, and other forms of variable compensation.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local compensation-related laws (e.g., FLSA, pay transparency regulations, and EEO guidelines).
Monitor legislative changes that could impact the firm’s pay practices and provide guidance on necessary adjustments.
Evaluate new and existing roles to ensure proper FLSA classification, leveling, and alignment within the firm’s compensation structure.
Partner with People team and leadership to update position descriptions, documenting responsibilities and other job requirements.
Prepare and present reports and dashboards on compensation trends, workforce costs, and pay equity analyses.
Use data insights to recommend and implement compensation policies that drive employee attraction, engagement, and retention.
Provide guidance to People teams, managers, and employees on compensation-related inquiries, policies, and decisions.
Train various levels of leadership, People Business Partners and Talent Partners on the firm’s compensation practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on special projects that drive attraction, retention, and growth initiatives, including acquisition integration, organizational restructuring, systems enhancements/changes, etc.
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of compensation programs and policies.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership in all compensation-related matters.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in human resources, business, or another related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in compensation or finance.
Expertise in compensation principles, program design, communication, and implementation.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
Proven analytical skills with the ability to use data to influence decision-making.
Advanced skills in Excel.
Proven consultative approach with HR teams and key business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
Experience managing compensation within CompXL and Workday.
Experience working in a professional services firm.
