Bloomberg’s Legal & Compliance Department plays a critical role in supporting our businesses and operations around the world. The Global Compliance team within Bloomberg’s Legal & Compliance Department provides coverage of our regulated entities and products including support for our non-regulated products and services. We work to address regulatory issues, ensure compliance with current/developing rules and regulations, and correspond with regulators.
What’s the Role? Bloomberg’s global Index business forms part of the wider Data landscape at the company, through which we provide our clients with a broad range of published pricing, research and other content, along with analytical tools to make sense of it all. We have an exciting opportunity in Advisory Compliance to work with the businesses that deliver these products, identifying regulatory risks and advising how best to mitigate them. This includes coverage of Bloomberg Index Services Limited (“BISL”), Bloomberg composite pricing, Bloomberg Intelligence, Bloomberg New Energy Finance and more.
The ideal candidate will have regulatory as well as product knowledge and experience of indices and financial benchmarks, pricing data, valuation practices, and/or other market data and data analytics. This might come from index experience dealing with contributor input data, index construction or related data quality concerns. You’ll need to be familiar with regulatory requirements and industry principles (e.g. IOSCO principles) for financial benchmarks, and be able to advise on implementation of regulatory compliance policies, governance and controls. It would help to have experience with regulation of investment advice, alternative data, ESG and/or Artificial Intelligence. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are essential, together with the ability to work as part of a team, with a real drive to add value to the firm.
You'll need to have: - Familiarity with financial markets and the role of indices and financial benchmarks. - Familiarity with index-related regulatory developments, particularly IOSCO principles and US regulatory landscape; familiarity with U.K. and E.U. Benchmarks Regulations would be preferred. - Experience with a data business in context of financial markets or services, such as input data used in index construction, and/or market or pricing data distributed to clients. - Knowledge of regulatory concerns associated with published content, such as pricing data or research, under U.S., U.K. and/or EU regulations. - The ability to assess, interpret and provide pragmatic guidance on issues related to products and information offered for purposes of supporting investment decisions. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail, including in drafting policies, procedures, manuals, and reports for senior management. - Demonstrated ability to address multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team. - An analytical mind, the ability to solve complex problems and streamline processes
We'd love to see: - Industry experience in a Compliance role covering indices and/or benchmarks - Working knowledge of indices and financial benchmarks - An understanding of the language of data, in order to work closely with data management professionals, data analysts and data scientists. - Experience advising financial markets analysts on regulatory issues with research intended for publication. - A track record of working with and advising senior business people on compliance matters. - Experience of identifying and managing risk, including risk framework and issue management.

Salary Range = 180000 - 210000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus
The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
