Performs data analysis, data visualization, statistical analysis, experimental design, database development, mathematical modeling, and novel method development. Provides bioinformatics analysis for investigators and communicates analytical process and results. Assists in preparing and submitting manuscripts for publication. Contributes ideas to automate or improve existing analysis methods, and innovative algorithm development. Assists with establishing and documenting protocols or best practices for common research tasks. Ensures that efficient and prompt help is provided to SJCRH PIs and other investigators. The Abraham Lab is seeking a Computational Research Scientist to study the role of gene dysregulation and genome organization in pediatric cancers. Job Responsibilities: Provides research support and delivers high-quality results. Formulates an efficient analytical approach with the available data. Delivers data files and documents the analytical process. May participate in manuscript preparation at project's conclusion Assists with establishing and documenting protocols or best practices for common research tasks Assists in the formulation of analytical plans that use the best approach to address challenging data analysis questions. Assists in the evaluation and testing of new methods and technologies. Contributes ideas to automate or improve existing analysis method implements the improvement or works with others to do so. May develop reusable code and pipeline. Participates in the department's independent research and interdepartmental team projects. Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Lead computationally focused scientific research projects with minimal supervision from their PI. Develop new computational methods. Identify, process, organize, interpret, review, and report relevant data. Direct data collection. Present research to colleagues within and outside the institution; draft a complex manuscript with minimal supervision, as required. Regularly train and oversee the work of others in computational research and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Minimum Education and/or Training: Bachelor's degree is required Minimum Experience: Seven (7) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required Five (5) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Master's degree Two (2) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a PhD Lead computationally focused scientific research projects with minimal supervision from their PI. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $104,000 - $186,160 per year for the role of Senior Computational Research Scientist/ Computational Research Scientist - Abraham Lab.
