JR70620 Senior Computer Services EngineerAs a IT Computer Services Engineer at Micron, you will support the acquisition, installation, maintenance and administration of Micron’s core computing environment (servers, storage, operating systems and infrastructure). These systems are host platforms for Micron’s management, file, print, database, remote access, mail, web, manufacturing, and application (client/server) systems. System Engineers specialize in hardware and operating system support, user support, account and permission management, and the performance management, security, and tuning of systems. You will work with Micron’s internal customers to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. You will be expected to suggest, promote and leverage published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure regulatory as well as license compliance.
Responsibilities:
Define, design and implement core system hardware and operating system solutions and maintain systems.Support day-to-day operations and customer support.Ensure security, availability, performance, interoperability and reliability of Micron’s core computing resources.Continually work to improve operations.Provisioning of data storage resources to servers and provide system security and accessProviding data backup client installations & scheduling, backup policies setting, performance tuning, and fixingEvolve the computing environment to meet future demands.Participate in on-call 24/7 support rotations, major incidents, and reviews (postmortems).Collaborate with site customers and Engineering disciplines to develop Reference Architectures and technology standards based on Infrastructure Building Block for computing and storage environment. Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing at the site level to ensure high class Infrastructure redundancy for computing and storage Continually work to improve operations and evolve the computing and storage environment to meet future demands.Requirements
Masters / bachelor’s degree with good honors in any Computer Science/Engineering field or an equivalent degree. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Passion to tackle business problems with application of technology. Good communication and interpersonal skills with a problem-solving attitude 6-8 years of experience in the infrastructure domain of IT with Knowledge of management of Windows, RHEL Linux OS , Configuration of SAN/NAS environment, Programming and scripting languages such as Java, PowerShell, and Python, Splunk, Tableau or any analytics tools.Desire to learn hardware and virtualization technologies like: Cisco UCS, HPE ProLiant, Dell servers, Nutanix, VMware, OpenShift, Citrix, Dell-EMC, NetApp, Pure Storage.Familiar with scripting languages will be added advantage. Certifications from Microsoft, RHEL, VMWare, Cisco, DELL-EMC, NETAPP will have an added advantage.About Micron Technology, Inc.
